Updated the document, added lots of descriptions and references to requirements from functional design doc. Ready for review.
Note: numbering in functional design doc should now only be extended upon, not changed as otherwise all references will be invalid.
Note 2: I have an improved version of functional design (typo's, small additions) locally. To be committed after consulting Irene.
